  2. 2 tbsp arhar dal or toor dal

  19. 3 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
  20. 4-5 mint leaves
  21. 2 tbsp butter
  22. 1/2 cup thick curd
  23. 5 tablespoons fresh cream

Steps to make to make Mughlai dal

  1. Wash the moong and soak it for 5 to 6 hours
  2. Soak the arhar dal or Tuvar dal and moong dal for around three to four hours
  3. Then take the soaked moong dal and arhar dal and cook it in a pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles. Add in some turmeric powder.
  4. To make barista
    Cut the onions into slices and add it in hot oil. Make sure to add the onions in small portions. As soon as onion starts frying slower the flame.
    Constantly stir the onions and after they are golden in colour take it out.
  5. After the daal has been cooked, mash it so well that there should not be any whole dal left
  6. Then cook the whole moong in a pressure cooker for 2 whistles.
    After the moong has been cooked add in the dal puree.
  7. Mash and mix it very well. And then add in some water.
  8. In a small mixture grinder take tomatoes and a green chilli and make a puree from it.
  9. In a pan add in ghee, then add in bayleaf, cinnamon, mace, black cardamom, green cardamom and add in garlic paste and saute it well till it gets brown or it has been cooked. Then add in tomato puree.
  10. Then add in salt and turmeric powder and deggi mirchi. And mix it well.
  11. Then add in curd and mix it well and cook it very well. Then add in the cooked dal and then add 1 cup of warm water. Dont make daal too thin. The daal should be thick. Mix it well and let it cook for 5 minutes.
  12. Then add in fresh cream. And then cook it for 2 minutes.
  13. To make dal tadka
    Take some butter in a pan and heat it and then add in kasuri methi and mix it well on slow flame. And then add it in the cooked dal.
  14. Then add in the barista in the daal. Add in some coriander and mint leaves and garam masala.
  15. Your mughlai dal is ready to serve!
    Serve it with some jeera rice, sliced onion, tomato and some barista
