Instructions to make to make Chick peas/Chana masala

  1. Firstly rinse chana and soak overnight, drain the water and keep aside.
  2. Add coconut, turmeric, chopped onion, chana masala, ginger garlic paste, chili powder, coriander powder in a blender add little water and grind to a smooth paste.
  3. Place a cooker on a medium flame add 2tbsp oil heat up add mustard seeds and cumin seeds curry leaves let it splutter, add ground masala paste saute it nicely for 4-5 minutes until raw smell reduced, add in chopped tomatoes saute it till it becomes little tender.
  4. Now add in soaked & drained chana/chickpeas, give it a good mix, add salt as per your taste add 1 cup of water close the lid get 4-5 whistles let it cool down, adjust the consistency according to your taste if extra water needed you can add and give it one boil.. and it's done garnish and serve hot with rice/roti.
